Sacraments

Baptism

To schedule a baptism, please get in touch with the church office. Before the baptism takes place, Pastor Zac will meet with the individual—or with the parents, in the case of infant baptism—to talk about the meaning and importance of this sacred Christian practice. We believe that baptism is a celebration of God’s covenant grace and an important step in the life of faith; therefore, the entire church body should participate in this celebration.

Holy Communion

We celebrate Holy Communion on the first Sunday of every month during our worship service. All who seek to follow Christ are welcome to partake.

Pastor Zac also brings the communion elements to members who are homebound or unable to attend in person. If you know someone who would like to receive communion at home, please get in touch with the church office so we can make arrangements.

Confirmation

Through the rite of confirmation, we personally renew the covenant declared at our baptism, witness to God’s work in our lives, affirm our commitment to Christ and his holy Church, and receive the outpouring of the Holy Spirit through the laying on of hands enabling our lifelong journey toward holiness. The apostles prayed for and laid hands on those who had been baptized. It is the duty of pastors to prepare confirmands, teaching them the basic tenets of the historic Christian faith, the history and theology of the Wesleyan revival movement, and the practical meaning of church membership in agreement with the Book of Doctrines & Discipline and approved catechism. ¶ 417 Book of Doctrines & Discipline.

Matrimony

We believe that marriage is a gift of God that is to be affirmed as it is exercised within the legal and spiritual covenant of a loving and monogamous union between one man and one woman (Exodus 20:14, Matthew 19:3-9, Ephesians 5:22-33). ¶ 302.7 Book of Doctrines & Discipline.

Are you considering taking the next step in your relationship and entering into a marriage covenant? Whether you are recently engaged or beginning to pray about your future together, I would love to support you on this journey. Marriage is a sacred and beautiful gift from God—a union that reflects Christ's love for the Church. As your pastor, I am here to offer support, biblical guidance, and counseling to help you prepare not just for your wedding day, but for a lifetime of shared faith, commitment, and grace.

If you are interested in premarital counseling, would like to explore what a Christ-centered marriage looks like, or want to discuss plans for a wedding ceremony at Sharon Springs Methodist Church, I invite you to reach out.

Let us sit down, talk through your hopes, and seek God's wisdom together.

To schedule a visit or learn more, please get in touch with Pastor Zac directly through the church office or send a message via our website.
